About
I-CREWS is Idaho’s newest NSF EPSCoR Track-1 award, providing $20 million over 5 years to study and address resilience of energy-water systems. The project leverages Idaho’s research strengths while expanding computational modeling capabilities.
Using diverse Idaho communities as study sites, the project integrates local knowledge, governance dynamics, and advanced analytics to evaluate resilience strategies, model current and future energy-water configurations, and develop future scenarios.
Over 35 core researchers, 8 new faculty hires, 10 postdocs, and 20 graduate students are involved. The project emphasizes community engagement, increasing diversity in STEM fields, and co-producing knowledge. Key partners include Idaho tribes, national labs, public agencies, utilities, and non-profits.
